Why install SF6 Density micro-water online monitoring device on GIS equipment?
After SF6 gas in GIS equipment contains excessive moisture, with the participation of some metals, SF6 can be hydrolyzed at temperatures above 200℃, generating active hydrofluoric acid (HF) and toxic SOF2, SO2F2, SF4 and SOF4 and other low-cost sulfur fluoride. Under the action of high temperature arc pulling, SF6 can be used as a catalyst. It will also decompose sulfur dioxide (SO2) and hydrofluoric acid (HF), which produce one of the greenhouse gases. They will corrode insulation and metal parts, and generate heat, resulting in a dangerous increase in gas pressure in the gas chamber, a decrease in the voltage strength and breaking capacity of the circuit breaker, and in serious cases will lead to an explosion of the circuit breaker, which will not only cause power grid accidents, but also cause harmful gases and greenhouse gases to be emitted into the atmosphere, forming electrical and environmental protection disasters. It also threatened the personal health of the on-site maintenance personnel.
The density and trace water content of SF6 gas in GIS system equipment play an important role in the reliable operation of the equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to detect SF6 gas density and trace water content in high voltage switching GIS equipment regularly. Through the detected values of SF6 gas density and water content, the GIS equipment operation status can be accurately judged, and the hidden danger of accidents can be eliminated in the bud, so as to ensure the safe operation of GIS equipment.
