What is the effect of high gas pressure of sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker?
The high pressure of SF6 equipment will shorten the mechanical life of the circuit breaker, and may also cause SF6 gas liquefaction.
Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) is a good gas insulator, and its typical application is used as gas insulation in the high-voltage switchgear of the power supply system. Once sulfur hexafluoride gas encounters high heat, high temperature (such as: electric arc), it will produce by-products such as hydrogen fluoride and sulfur dioxide gas, which coexist with undecomposed sulfur hexafluoride gas, even in the case of trace inhalation can cause fatal damage to the human body. Different manufacturers of switches, charging pressure is also different, the general SF6 high voltage circuit breaker rated pressure is generally 0.0.6MPa (gauge pressure), usually refers to the ambient temperature of 20℃ when the pressure value. When the temperature is different, the pressure of SF6 gas is also different. When inflating or inspecting, the temperature and pressure curve of SF6 gas must be checked, and the product instruction manual should be processed.
