Sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker temperature is too low what are the effects?
1, sulfur hexafluoride can only remain gaseous when the temperature is above 45 ° C, and it has the possibility of liquefaction under normal conditions of use, so sulfur hexafluoride can not be used at too low temperature and too low pressure. The actual pressure of circuit breaker decreases after sulfur hexafluoride liquefaction, and the switch cannot work normally due to insufficient insulation distance.
2, sulfur hexafluoride under atmospheric pressure is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive inert gaseous substance, strong chemical stability, 500℃-600℃ does not decompose, and acid, alkali, salt, ammonia, water, etc. do not react, under the action of arc (several thousand degrees) decomposition into S and F atomic gas, but once the electric isolation is lifted in 105-106 seconds composite SF6.
Sulfur hexafluoride has good electrical insulation properties and excellent arc extinguishing properties. Its electric strength is 2.5 times of fluorine gas under the same pressure, 2.5 times of the breakdown voltage of air, and 100 times of the arc extinguishing ability of air, which is a new generation of high voltage insulating dielectric material superior to air and oil. After sulfur hexafluoride liquefaction, its good electrical insulation performance and excellent arc extinguishing performance will be greatly reduced, basically losing its role as an insulating medium material, so that the switch can not work normally.
3, SF6 is a relatively heavy gas, under the same conditions, its density is 6 times that of air, and the relationship between pressure and temperature follows the ideal gas law. The critical temperature is the highest temperature at which SF6 gas liquefaction occurs, and the critical pressure represents the gas pressure required for liquefaction to occur at this temperature. Sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker is a circuit breaker that uses sulfur hexafluoride gas as an arc extinguishing medium and insulating medium. Due to the excellent characteristics of this gas, the single break of this circuit breaker is much higher than that of compressed air circuit breaker and less oil circuit breaker in terms of voltage and current parameters, and does not require high air pressure and a considerable number of series breaks.
