What harm does high purity sulfur hexafluoride water cause to electrical equipment

发布时间:2024-07-05 来源:ydlcb 浏览次数:24次

In the power industry, high-purity sulfur hexafluoride is an important medium, which is used as a closed, high-voltage switch arc extinguishing and insulating gas. The excellent performance of SF6 gas enables economical and low-maintenance operation of the plant. At present, as an insulating and arc extinguishing medium, no other technology can surpass SF6 gas from a technical, economic and ecological point of view.

Because the gas has been widely used in electrical equipment. From the application point of view, high-purity sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers and GIS are the main fields, which have basically replaced oil circuit breakers with 126kV and above voltage levels. It is obvious that SF6 gas replaces insulating oil as arc extinguishing and insulating medium is an inevitable trend of development.

With the extensive application of high purity sulfur hexafluoride electrical equipment in China, the amount of this gas is increasing. And because high-purity gas is expensive, and when SF6 gas contains moisture, it will cause the following hazards to electrical equipment:

(1) In the presence of water, hydrolysis of high-purity sulfur hexafluoride decomposition products occurs, which hinders the recombination of SF6 decomposition products and reduces the medium recovery strength of SF6, thus reducing the insulation characteristics of the equipment.

(2) Aggravated the hydrolysis of low fluoride and the decomposition of metal fluoride. The resulting sulfite fluoride and hydrofluoric acid are highly toxic, have great harm to the human body, and will also corrode electrodes and insulation materials.

(3) Condensation in the equipment. The water in the high-purity sulfur hexafluoride gas exists in the form of water vapor, and when the temperature is reduced, it may condenze inside the equipment, adhere to the surface of the equipment such as electrodes, insulator surfaces, etc., which is easy to produce surface discharge (flashover) and cause accidents.

(4) fluorinated sulfite and hydrofluoric acid will pollute the environment if they are put into the atmosphere. Therefore, high-purity sulfur hexafluoride electrical equipment should recover and purify SF6 gas during production and maintenance, and timely remove the water and decomposition products in SF6 gas.

It is precisely because of the above hazards, sulfur hexafluoride recovery and purification device came into being, and has become a necessary equipment for SF6 electrical equipment users and SF6 electrical equipment manufacturers to produce, repair and support.

The use of high purity sulfur hexafluoride as an insulating gas is due to its own superior insulation. The sulfur hexafluoride manufacturer said that there is too much water in sulfur hexafluoride, which leads to frost formation of water vapor, which will reduce the insulation strength and directly affect the normal operation of the equipment. Excessive sulfur hexafluoride moisture will cause the moisture and these vapors to form metal fluoride to corrode the surface of the component. There may also be hydrogen sulfide, HF and other highly toxic substances.

So in order to avoid the harm that may be caused by high-purity sulfur hexafluoride micro-water, we should solve this problem at the source. Buying sulfur hexafluoride gas produced by brand manufacturers to ensure that the moisture is qualified when the gas leaves the factory is a good way to solve the problem. The sulfur hexafluoride manufacturer reminds users that this will corrode the equipment, and once a leak occurs, it will directly endanger the life and health of the staff.

The liquefaction of high purity sulfur hexafluoride must be considered in the high cold region. The liquefaction problem can be solved by heating short circuit or using SF6-N2 mixed gas as arc extinguishing medium. Since SF6 gas is easy to liquefy, liquid recovery is currently used.
