Why install an SF6 micro water integrated monitor when you have an SF6 dew point meter?
Dew point meter measurement has the following defects:
A. Not online. The dew point meter is used for regular detection, which is a non-online detection method, and can not reflect the operating status and dynamic change of the equipment in real time. The maintenance of equipment and the automation of power distribution network in the true sense cannot be realized.
B. The measurement is limited by the ambient temperature. The temperature of the instrument should not be lower than the ambient temperature during testing. The storage and working temperature of the instrument is -10℃ ~ +50℃. At the same time, different ambient temperatures, the measurement range is different. It can be seen that the northern winter and the southern summer are not suitable for field testing. The relevant data can be found in the Conversion table of Dew Point (DP) to Water Content Volume ratio (ppmv).

C. It takes time, effort and energy. During the test, SF6 gas is emitted for a long time. Because the sampling line contains moisture. Dry the sampling line at least 10 minutes before the measurement. A complete and accurate test takes about 45-55 minutes. According to the standard sample gas flow rate, that is, 30 to 40L/h, a test needs to emit about 35 liters of SF6 gas. Therefore, SF6 gas should be supplemented after the test is completed. The following figure shows the change curve and time required for the dew-point meter to reach a stable value.
