What is the use of high voltage circuit breakers?
In power plants and substations, high-voltage circuit breakers are the main control equipment in circuits above 1000KV. The load current used to turn on or off a circuit during normal operation; When the fault occurs, it is used to quickly disconnect the short circuit current and remove the fault.
(1) Control effect. According to the needs of the operation of the power system, part or all of the electrical equipment and part or all of the lines are put into or out of operation.
(2) Protective effect. When a certain part of the power system fails, it works with the protection device and automatic device to remove the fault part from the system quickly, reduce the scope of power failure, prevent the expansion of the accident, protect all kinds of electrical equipment in the system from damage, and ensure the safe operation of the trouble-free part of the system.
The main structure of the high-voltage circuit breaker is roughly divided into: diversion part, arc extinguishing part, insulation part, operating mechanism part. The main types of high voltage switches are divided into: oil circuit breaker, air circuit breaker, vacuum circuit breaker, sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker, solid gas circuit breaker, magnetic blow circuit breaker. According to the nature of operation can be divided into: electric mechanism, pneumatic mechanism, hydraulic mechanism, spring energy storage mechanism, manual mechanism.
(1) Oil circuit breaker. Transformer oil is used as the extinguishing medium, which can be divided into two types: more oil and less oil.
(2) sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker. The inert gas sulfur hexafluoride is used to extinguish the arc, and its high insulation performance is used to enhance the insulation between the contacts.
(3) Vacuum circuit breaker. The contact is sealed in the high vacuum arc extinguishing room, and the high insulation performance of the vacuum is used to extinguish the arc.
(4) Air circuit breaker. The use of high-speed flow of compressed air to extinguish the arc.
(5) Solid gas circuit breaker. The arc is extinguished by the gas decomposed from the solid gas producing material under the action of high temperature.
